Elections could not be run without the help of each of the 20 cities within San Mateo County.
The County Elections Division convenes annually with the City Clerks to discuss and prepare for upcoming elections. While much of the topics entail reviewing procedures already in place, the refresher also serves as an opportunity to touch upon any areas that could be improved.
Review on topics such as candidate filing, accepting resolutions calling elections, nominations, and Elections costs comprise the bulk of the Annual City Clerk Meeting.
This year’s meeting, held Wed., June 25, allowed the cities to help the County prepare for the upcoming November Presidential General election. In the frenzied months sure to arrive shortly, the cities will be instrumental in ensuring a smooth elections experience.
