Supplies Are Out the Door

November 1, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The morning of Nov. 1 was filled with activity as supplies flew out the door into the hands of Inspectors in preparation of Tuesday’s election.

On the Elections Office warehouse floor is a grid made out of blue painters tape and laminated labels, creating a specific space for the supplies of each of the 448 precincts that comprise the San Mateo County voting boundaries.

This grid helps us to efficiently organize supplies as they are put together, distribute supplies to precinct Inspectors as they arrive, and collect the red, white, and blue boxes at the end of Election Night.

On Tuesday night, warehouse staff can keep track of what precincts have yet to arrive.  It’s basically a manual version of our AssetTracker.

Check out our earlier post for more information about the distribution of supplies.
